A diamond polishing disc is commonly used for sanding surfaces such as microcement, stone, concrete, stoneware or granite. A concrete polishing disc will be ideal for sanding microcement, especially as each layer of microcement should be sanded to achieve a deep surface. A diamond grinding disc is more efficient than sandpaper and is sufficient to sand more of the substrate. However, keep in mind that polishing a floor with a diamond pad is a professional process that may require experience. If you are unsure how to sand a particular surface, it is always a good idea to consult a professional. Use a protective face mask when sanding.
Is it better to sand microcement with a diamond pad or sandpaper?
One sandpaper pad will be suitable for an area of a maximum of a few m2. If you have a larger area to work on and the possibility of attaching smaller pads (with a trivodisc-type adapter), the diamond pad will be a better economic solution and sufficient for a much larger area (even around 100 m2). Such a polishing disc is more efficient.
