Microcement in the kitchen and in the bathroom
Despite the coronavirus outbreak, Borys from Concrete Studio has his hands full! In the latest video he presents one of his newest projects – a kitchen and a bathroom finished with microcement.

Microcement bathroom in an apartment in Warsaw
In the bathroom, all walls, the bathtub casing, toilet frame and floor were finished with microcement. Borys used FESTWALL Life (color GR5) for the walls and FESTFLOOR Life (color GR6) for the floor. Two dark gray tones were combined with warm wood, wicker baskets, and a wall of plants that gave freshness and a touch of exotic character. A beautiful stone sink adds an interesting accent — the whole space feels more like a spa than a typical Warsaw bathroom.

But one microcement room wasn’t enough for the investor, Mrs. Aleksandra. She also wanted a kitchen finished with microcement.
Industrial microcement kitchen
In the kitchen, Borys used two-component FESTWALL Life (on walls and ceiling) and FESTFLOOR Life (on the floor), both in lighter shade GR1. Traditional microcement gives more freedom to create texture and characteristic shading — exactly what the investor wanted.
The kitchen follows the same color scheme as the bathroom: oak furniture, solid wood countertop, industrial bar stools, and metal shelves. Since Ms. Aleksandra enjoys cooking, she added extra protection behind the stove with tempered glass. The sealer included in the microcement kit protects the surface against stains, but it’s best to wipe off greasy marks quickly (see also: how to clean and maintain microcement).
The apartment looks modern and cohesive. By repeating materials like concrete, wood and metal throughout, the space feels calm and visually balanced — a great example of interior consistency.
We also congratulate Mrs. Aleksandra, who designed and decorated the whole apartment herself. The result is stunning — and most importantly, approved by the household cat 😺
